SDP, DF, NiP and Naprijed party headquarters receive letter from Srebrenica: We seek support for Muhamed Avdić's candidacy

(Patria) - Municipal boards of SDP, NiP, DF, and Naprijed from Srebrenica sent a letter to party headquarters, i.e., presidents, asking for support for Muhamed Avdić as a joint candidate for the mayor of Srebrenica Municipality. Previously, Hamdija Fejzić from SDA announced his candidacy, inviting political parties to support him as an independent candidate. However, the local organizations of the four mentioned parties refused to support Fejzić and expressed their desire to nominate their own candidate. The Party of BiH also announced the candidacy of Faruk Đozić and calls for an agreement among political parties.

The letter states that the parties are disappointed with the actions of SDA Srebrenica, which, in their opinion, undermined the negotiation process and submitted Fejzić's candidacy as an independent candidate. Emphasis is placed on the fact that Fejzić has been active on the political scene for 30 years, which they consider unacceptable.

The parties emphasize that they are ready to take responsibility for the fate of their community and the town, and they have jointly proposed Muhamed Avdić as their candidate for the mayor of Srebrenica Municipality. Avdić was born in 1981 and returned to Srebrenica in 2008 after completing his studies. It is also highlighted that he is a father of three children and his wife is unemployed; a petition was recently signed preventing her from working in a kindergarten due to wearing a headscarf.

In a joint statement, the parties called on the party headquarters in Sarajevo to support their proposal and back Avdić for the mayor of Srebrenica Municipality. The letter was signed by Ahmo Mehmedović from OO SDP Srebrenica, Sejdalija Suljić from OO NiP Srebrenica, Nedib Smajić from the Naprijed party Srebrenica, and Hamdija Gušić from OO DF Srebrenica.
