FBiH Leadership: Čavara, Mahmutbegović and Dunović Sworn In

Newly elected FBiH leadership, Marinko Čavara as president, and Melika Mahmutbegović and Milan Dunović as vice presidents, have taken the oath before the delegates of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament. Today, two sessions of both houses of the FBiH Parliament were held to finally elect the FBiH leadership for the next four-year term.

15:30 After the list for the FBiH leadership did not receive support from the Serb Club in the House of Peoples, the House of Representatives, according to procedure, voted on it again. The list again received support with 57 votes in favor, one against, and 26 abstentions. This means that the FBiH leadership has been elected, regardless of the fact that it will not have support in the House of Peoples, as prescribed.

The House of Peoples of the FBiH as a whole confirmed the list of candidates for the president and vice presidents of FBiH with 30 votes in favor, 12 against, and four abstentions. The Croat Club supported the list with 15 votes, the Bosniak Club with 14 and three abstentions also supported it, but the list did not receive support in the Serb Club, where 10 delegates voted against, two in favor, and one abstained, reports Patria News Agency.

The club presidents announced that they propose the same candidates, which is why the list was sent back to the House of Representatives for a vote. The session of the House of Representatives should begin soon, and then another session of the House of Peoples will be held.
