Data from municipalities awaited: Aid to affected population could begin in about ten days

Money from the Federal Fund intended for the population affected by floods could start being disbursed in the next ten days. This was decided today at the session of the Council of the Federal Fund for Aid to Disaster-Affected Areas, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Now, mayors of municipalities affected by floods and landslides in the past several months are awaited. They are obliged to submit concrete data on the number of damaged buildings in their municipalities by Thursday, after which the first disbursement of funds should begin.

Approximately nine million KM has been paid into the account of the Federal Fund for Aid to Disaster-Affected Areas so far, and the money will be used for the rehabilitation of residential and commercial buildings damaged during the devastating floods and landslides that hit a large part of Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, writes NAP.

At the session of the Fund Council, there was also discussion about the rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities, primarily road communications, as well as the damage suffered by the economy and the need to preserve jobs, reports NAP.

The Council of the Federal Fund for Aid to Disaster-Affected Areas from Natural Disasters on the Territory of the Federation of BiH held its first session today. The task of the council is to coordinate the direction of collected funds for flooded areas and their fair distribution, as well as to provide advice to the Management Board and the Fund Director.

The Council is headed by the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, and members are the prime ministers of the Sarajevo Canton Muhamed Kozadra, Zenica-Doboj Canton Munib Husejnagić, Posavina Canton Marijan Oršolić, Una-Sana Canton Hamdija Lipovača, Tuzla Canton Bahrija Umihanić, and Central Bosnia Canton Tahir Lendo. Also present are the presidents of the FBiH Employers' Association Safudin Čengić and the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH Ismet Bajramović, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH Safet Softić and the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH Tomislav Martinović, representatives of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of FBiH - mayors of Domaljevac-Šamac Željko Josić and Zenica Husejin Smajlović, writes NAP.
