CCI to present results of Council of Ministers and BiH Parliament work on Monday

Centri Civilnih Inicijativa (CCI) will hold a press conference on Monday to present the results of monitoring the work of the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, in the period from 1.1. to 30. 6.2017.

CCI previously presented reports on the work of cantonal governments and assemblies, as well as the work of the FBiH Government and Parliament. None of these legislative and executive bodies in the Federation of BiH received a positive assessment. CCI stated that in the first half of 2017, the FBiH Parliament adopted only eight out of 90 planned laws.

Speaking about the work of the FBiH Government, CCI pointed out that unlike the previous term, which saw significant fluctuations in work, the Federation of BiH Government in the current term has had a fairly balanced performance on a semi-annual basis. However, the government's productivity in the first half of 2017 is the lowest in the current term.

The FBiH Government determined 31 laws during this period, of which 22 were proposals. The nature of the measures implemented by the Government during the first six months of this year shows, CCI emphasizes, insufficient focus on important measures and key citizen problems.

- The already small number of measures determined by the Government that are significant for the quality of citizens' lives is further diminished by the Parliament's inefficiency and the disunity of the ruling coalition – stated CCI, adding that out of 22 proposed laws determined by the Government, Parliament adopted only six in the same period.

Analyzing the work of ten cantonal governments and assemblies, CCI highlights even more catastrophic results. For Sarajevo Canton, the only positive assessment was the initiation of constitutional changes, while the work of other cantonal governments and assemblies was rated extremely low.

For example, CCI stated, the West Herzegovina Canton Assembly worked only 6.5 hours in the entire six months, Canton 10 adopted 1 law and held two sessions, while the authorities in Tuzla Canton worked against reforms.

The press conference on the work of the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will be held at Hotel Europa in Sarajevo starting at 11 AM, NAP writes.
