CCI: Opposition MPs in the Federal Parliament more active than ruling party MPs

The report of the Center for Civic Initiatives on the work of the FBiH Parliament states that MPs in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament submitted slightly more than 50 amendments in 2016. These amendments were submitted by a total of 23 MPs acting individually, out of a total of 98 MPs sitting in this federal house.

This indicator does not include amendments submitted or presented by individual MPs on behalf of the party clubs they come from.

The most amendments in the House of Representatives were submitted by Jasmina Zubić (SDP) – 9, Dennis Gratz (NS) - 5, and Mirsad Topčagić (ADSA) – 5.

The same report further states that 53 MPs asked 249 parliamentary questions, while 19 MPs submitted a total of 38 initiatives.

Regarding the asking of parliamentary questions, the most active MPs were: Jasmina Zubić (SDP), Damir Mašić (SDP), Amra Kunovac (DF), Azra Hadžić (SBB), Faruk Čupina (SBB), Jusuf Bubica (BPS), Dzevad Adzem (DF), Elma Đogić (Labour Party), Omer Škaljo (SDA).

- Although the ruling majority slowed down the work of this house and at one point brought it into a state of hibernation, we opposition representatives, including myself, managed to justify the trust that citizens gave us in the elections. I am glad that this was noted in the CCI report – said MP Amra Kunovac in a comment for the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- We will not relent in our efforts to get answers to the questions citizens are asking, and we will continue to be exclusively their representatives, not representatives of certain lobbies – says Kunovac. The FBiH Parliament recently approved an initiative by MP Kunovac for the FBiH Government to support the work of the Parent's House in Sarajevo, where children with cancer and their parents stay during treatment at KCUS.

The CCI report shows that about 30 MPs of the House of Representatives of the PFBiH did not ask a single question, submit a single initiative or amendment during 2016, writes Patria.
