(Patria) - An emergency session of the crisis headquarters formed due to the situation that befell a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to catastrophic floods was held in the office of the Mayor of Cazin.
As agreed, the City of Cazin will urgently allocate 50,000 convertible marks as the first emergency aid package for the affected areas.
- We reacted in an organized and swift manner in 2012, when floods hit the area of Goražde, and we did the same in 2014, during this natural disaster in the areas of Maglaj, Zavidovići, Odžak, and Doboj.
We provided truly significant assistance to the population then, and we will certainly do so this time.
Our assistance and all forms of support are therefore unquestionable, as Cazin is an area of extremely humane and active people, and what we unfortunately cannot influence are the human casualties with whose families and local communities we share this truly great sorrow today - said the Mayor of Cazin, Nermin Ogrešević.
According to the institutional order of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, related to the engagement of human resources and machinery, all institutions of the City of Cazin (Civil Protection, Fire Department, GSS, public enterprises) are ready and awaiting a call to be dispatched to the affected areas.
The City of Cazin has also organized a collection point for aid to the affected population, where citizens can deliver their assistance starting tomorrow at 9 AM.
And as emphasized, the most needed items are: drinking water, canned food, pasta, hygiene products, rubber boots, and sleeping bags.
The aid collection point is located in the economic yard of JKP "Čistoća" in Slatina.
