Ćazim Hasanspahić Reported to the Disciplinary Prosecutor for Inaction in the 'Dragan Čović' Case

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed a report with the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council against state prosecutor Ćazim Hasanspahić.

The report was filed because Hasanspahić, in his organized crime case, held a report for war crimes against the president of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, for years, Istraga reported. Although Hasanspahić claimed he was never assigned to that case, official information from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina shows otherwise.

“In March 2017, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina received a report-submission from a political entity (political party) alleging criminal acts of organized crime, linked to several other criminal offenses, in the post-war period in Bosnia and Herzegovina, among other persons mentioning Dragan Čović*. A small segment at the very end of the report referred to allegations of war crimes. Given the content of the submission, a KTA case was formed under prosecutor number T20 0 KTA 0014998 17, assigned to prosecutor Hasanspahić. Two additional submissions received from individuals, relating to allegations of war crimes, were later added to the case, one of which was forwarded in 2018 from the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton, to which it was originally submitted, as well as a citizen's report from 2019 submitted directly to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, alleging war events and the SOKO company in Mostar during the war year of 1993. No investigative actions or verification of the allegations in the report have been recorded in the case. Prosecutor Hasanspahić was listed as the assigned prosecutor for case number T20 0 KTA 0014998 17 from its formation in 2017 until March 6 this year, when it was reassigned to another acting prosecutor,” reads the response of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Istraga's inquiry.
