Čavka: We are satisfied, but the Homeland coalition expected higher turnout of Bosniaks

The coalition „Homeland“ passed the electoral threshold for the National Assembly of the entity of Republika Srpska. As they say from this coalition of Bosniak and Croatian parties in the smaller BH entity, „Homeland“ also won one direct mandate in the Parliament of BiH and will be a decisive factor in the smaller BH entity for establishing a parliamentary majority, i.e., forming the government, writes the Patria news agency.

Admir Čavka, the candidate of "Homeland" for the National Assembly of RS from the Banja Luka electoral district, says in an interview with Patria that he still does not know whether he received enough votes to enter the National Assembly, because the key votes for the Homeland coalition have not yet been counted.

- We are essentially satisfied, although we expected many more votes, but we will later analyze the poor turnout of Bosniaks in these elections. We will wait for the results from the diaspora, absentee votes, primarily from Podrinje, because they vote absentee, and we count on some 25 to 30 thousand new votes. That would significantly improve the picture - says Čavka.

He explains that if it were not for Homeland, no one would have passed, just as the SDP did not pass the threshold, so no party would have passed and we would not be a political factor.

- Now it is already realistic that we will determine the majority in the National Assembly of RS because so far we have a secure five mandates and we count on two or three in the end. We will be the deciding factor in the future assembly. We will negotiate with the winning parties in RS, but it is still early for that. We will wait for the final results and sit down at the table and see who meets the criteria. We have some nine goals that we signed in Srebrenica, and whichever side accepts them, we will be ready for cooperation - added Čavka.
