Čavić: Izetbegović, Radončić and Komšić will decide if Dodik will enter state government

NDP President Dragan Čavić stated that any referendum announced by Milorad Dodik would put Republika Srpska in a position to become a pawn in the eyes of global players. He also emphasized that a potential referendum on independence would mean the end for Republika Srpska, reports the Patria News Agency.

-Dodik does not have the capacity to equate his fate with the fate of RS. That would make Republika Srpska a pawn in the eyes of global players, said Dragan Čavić.

When asked "why talk about a referendum if he is aware that he does not have support?", Čavić said that it is a means of pressure on the interlocutor.

-It is a means of pressure on the interlocutor in BiH and outside BiH in terms of gaining some benefits. I understand his tactic and strategy to stop the pressure that was on RS, which was exerted by representatives of the international community, without any reason, said Čavić and continued:

-In a relatively short period in 2006, RS shed the accusations of the Hague Tribunal and completed the roadmap. At that time, the office of the High Representative in BiH should have been closed, and then everything went downhill. Another problem is that every Bosniak after Silajdžić wanted to be Silajdžić, he pointed out.

Regarding the potential entry into the Council of Ministers of BiH together with SNSD, Čavić said that it is not up to him to decide.

-We cannot be in the Council of Ministers with SNSD. That decision will be made by those who have the capacity for it. These are primarily Izetbegović, Komšić, and Radončić, he said.

He also emphasized that he is always in favor of cooperation that will bring common progress.

-I clearly stated at the meeting with Zvizdić, Izetbegović, and Bevanda when we discussed the German agenda on reforms that I am always ready for cooperation that will bring mutual benefit and common progress.

On the adoption of the coordination mechanism, Čavić said that the key to the future of this country lies precisely in that.

-If the coordination mechanism is adopted, and it is the key to the future of this country, and if it comes to life next year, this country will leave behind the conflict that has been multiplied through ethnic, state, cantonal, and religious relations in the coming years.

The "Two Snouts" Affair

Regarding the "Two Snouts" affair that shook the political scene of BiH, Čavić said that everything was proven but that the criminal complaint against Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović was dismissed.

-The criminal complaint in the "Snout" affair was dismissed. Forensic experts from the Netherlands confirmed the authenticity of that recording, and we continue to boycott the Prime Minister.

He also said that he had discussed Serbian-Bosniak dialogue with the late Zoran Đinđić.
