Ćavar: Information on Zubac at the Council of Ministers, will the SIPA leadership be replaced?

Despite the confirmed indictment for negligent work and a ban on accessing classified information until the completion of the court proceedings against him, Goran Zubac currently remains at the head of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), writes the Patria News Agency. The Independent Board, specifically the Serb representatives within it led by chairman Žiko Krunić, managed to ensure that the possible suspension of Zubac would not even be on the agenda.

Due to different interpretations of the Law on Police Bodies, the Law on Independent Bodies, and the Rules of Procedure of the Independent Board, assistance has been requested from the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee of both houses of the BiH Parliament. However, this only means further delays, as it is known that the parliamentarians' collective annual leave is approaching.

Mladen Ćavar, Deputy Minister of Security of BiH, however, states that SIPA's work is not threatened, as SIPA is a professional organization where people do their jobs, and Zubac is not the only person there with access to classified and top-secret data.

- I act exclusively according to the law that defines this issue. I am acting in accordance with it, and I cannot comment on what someone else will say or do now – Ćavar told NAP, responding to the question of what will happen next and how he comments on the actions of the Independent Board.

Otherwise, as Ćavar confirmed, he has sent complete information to the Council of Ministers and hopes that this information will be on the agenda of the session.

- I have the right to request a dismissal, and this information about the entire case of SIPA Director Goran Zubac has been sent to the Council of Ministers, so we will see what happens – added Ćavar.
