Ćavar: Ambassador Makarević indirectly tells our citizens who to vote for in Mostar!

(Patria) - BiH Ambassador to Norway Nedim Makarević invited people from Mostar in the diaspora to register for the local elections in December. Boška Ćavar from the City Committee of Our Party in Mostar considers his invitation problematic because he alludes to the fact that citizens should vote for SDA and the parties gathered around it.

“I appreciate the efforts of all BiH ambassadors who contribute to animating all our citizens abroad to register so they can vote in the upcoming elections. However, Mr. Makarević did it, to say the least, in an inappropriate manner. He said that the Mostar we want can be achieved on a 'common patriotic platform'. The patriotic platform is an informal name for the coalition that SDA is gathering in Mostar. Makarević, consciously or unconsciously, instead of just inviting citizens to register, indirectly told them who to vote for.

We demand that Mr. Makarević corrects this, otherwise, we will consider this an abuse of position because he is not acting in the interest of the citizens but of one political entity.

We also ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide clear instructions to all BiH embassies that their calls for voter registration be made without any ideological connotations.”
