Čaušević reveals names: Among political masterminds are Čović, Vrankić, and Bevanda!

Dragan Čović, Dragan Vrankić, and Vjekoslav Bevanda, high-ranking HDZ BiH officials, according to unofficial information obtained by the BiH news agency Patria, are among the names of politicians that the former director of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, Kemal Čaušević, gave in his statement during his arrest. They used their political influence and positions to gain financial benefits. 

Vrankić allegedly, at the time when he was the state Minister of Finance and a member of the UIO BiH Steering Board, explicitly demanded that the current director of the UIO BiH, Miro Džakula, be appointed head of the Regional Center Mostar.

Due to the fact that the Steering Board can create various blockades in the work of the Authority, Čaušević suggested to the members of the Commission that appointed the heads of the RC to be cautious about Džakula. However, problems arose because Džakula performed very poorly in the interview, but under Vrankić's strong pressure, Čaušević still suggested that he be appointed. 

Incidentally, Čaušević allegedly characterized Džakula in his testimony as "a man who likes money and who gladly received it from persons suspected of tax evasion".

Furthermore, Čović, who is a candidate for the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency, was mentioned by the former director of the UIO BiH, who is the key witness in the case of the century which, when all the names of the politicians involved in it come to light, will shake not only HDZ BiH but also SDA and SNSD, in the context of "friendly persuasion" to buy the Sokol hall across from the already purchased building for the needs of the UIO. 

Čović allegedly drove Čaušević in his car and showed him the hall, which a court expert estimated at 900,000 KM, for the UIO to buy for 1.5 million KM! The Authority did not actually buy the building from Sokol, but from Čović's friend who first privatized the object and then sold it to the UIO.

It is indicative that Čović's friend bought the building from Sokol at a time when the HDZ candidate for the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency was at the head of this Mostar company. Vrankić and Bevanda also attended the talks about the purchase of the disputed building. 

Bevanda was also mentioned by Čaušević in his statement in the context of the sale of fiscal cash registers, which were initially imported into the Federation of BiH during the fiscalization process by the son-in-law of the current Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and HDZ candidate for the BiH Parliament. Bevanda was the key player in the negotiations on how fiscalization would be implemented, and it was ultimately decided that it would be at the entity level. Entity fiscalization was an agreement between Bevanda and former RS Prime Minister Aleksandar Džombić, and the figure mentioned in connection with this business is a staggering 300 million KM. 

For the record, Čaušević was arrested on June 18 in an operation codenamed "Pandora". He did not give a statement to the BiH Prosecutor's Office on August 1, although he had previously expressed a desire to speak with the prosecutor handling the case. He was released from custody on September 12. His lawyer, Asim Crnalić, stated that there was no need for his client to supplement his earlier statement, given that they had not received evidence from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
