Ćatić: Drinking water arrived in Buturović Polje last night, some villages got electricity

(Patria) - Drinking water reached Buturović Polje again last night after the devastating floods that hit parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was confirmed to Hayat.ba by the Mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, stating that the search for the missing continues on the ground, as well as activities on road rehabilitation.

- This is a temporary solution that the workers of the Waterworks, together with volunteers, managed to achieve through superhuman efforts to reach the source and repair the network that had been broken. Work will continue on electrification; some villages have received electricity, but there are many that still haven't. Teams from the Electric Power Company are on the ground, as well as all city services, working to restore road communication to reach certain villages – Ćatić told us.

The Operational Center of the Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK) announced that a large number of volunteers are engaged in Konjic and Jablanica, helping with the delivery of food, medicine, and other necessities.

The containers that have arrived in the Konjic area are being placed in designated safe locations for the accommodation of those affected.

Ćatić said that Konjic received 20 containers for accommodation from Turkey and 15 from Croatia.

- The location for alternative accommodation has been determined. Preparations have been underway for three days, after which the necessary utility infrastructure will be set up so that the containers can be placed in the temporary settlement – Ćatić told us.
