Marčela Barišić's magical teas treat a hundred ailments

Marčela Barišić from the village of Bjelovići near Kreševo, who practices traditional medicine, is visited by patients from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her herbal preparations, which she learned to make from her grandmother, are used by patients with asthma, skin diseases, kidney patients... They praise that Marčela's magical teas give them hope for life every time after they drink them, writes the Patria News Agency (NAP).

Marčela is from Bulgaria and moved to Bjelovići more than a decade ago when she married a Bosnian man, Mato. Traditional medicine was initially just her hobby, which she applied to her family members and friends, but a few years ago she dedicated herself entirely to ancient forms of healing and now lives from it.

- I advise people who come to me not to give up on the therapies recommended by their doctor - Barišić told the BiH News Agency Patria (NAP).

- But, it is important for patients to include natural medicine therapies alongside official medicine. It very often happens that by combining two types of medicine, recovery occurs much faster than doctors predicted, or it happens that the patient, after some time, rejects medical therapy because they realize that it is enough for them to take only tea or some natural elixir - adds Barišić.

The natural creams, elixirs, and mixtures that Marčela prepares for those who seek her help, she makes from pure herbs, most of which she picks from meadows and forests around Kreševo, and part she grows in her own garden. She makes all medicines by hand, so the quantities are usually limited.

It will be remembered that many men, after taking her honey with pumpkin seeds, avoided prostate surgery. Their testimonies can be read in the letters they sent to Marčela, which she keeps in her notebook, writes Patria.
