SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Due to the large number of arriving trucks, as well as long queues of trucks waiting to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Indirect Taxation Authority, in agreement with the BiH Coordination Body for Protection and Rescue and the Ministry of Security of BiH, decided that the customs posts of Gradiška and Šamac will operate today as well.
Customs officers and necessary inspection services (veterinary, phyto-sanitary, market inspection) have been organized to work in the shortest possible time, and customs clearance procedures are being completed as quickly as possible in accordance with all applicable legal regulations.
We appeal to all importers who have not yet imported and cleared goods at the customs posts of Gradiška and Šamac to find a freight forwarder and conclude an agency agreement with them before the trucks arrive at the terminal. If importers authorize a freight forwarder to initiate customs procedures on their behalf before the trucks arrive at the customs terminal, the customs clearance of goods will be completed much faster, and drivers with trucks will not have to spend a long time at the customs posts.
We remind you that trucks that are only transiting through Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina as their final destination must use the Gradiška, Šamac, and Bijača border crossings, in accordance with the decision of neighboring Republic of Croatia.
