Customs clearance of goods proceeds completely normally in all customs posts across BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Customs clearance of goods in all customs posts across Bosnia and Herzegovina is proceeding completely normally and without delays.

This is also the situation at the Sarajevo customs post where shipments, whether for import or export customs clearance, are processed in the shortest possible time.

The equipment of the International Organization IOM, which would be used to urgently establish a quarantine settlement for 1,000 illegal migrants, was also cleared on a priority basis. The customs procedure was completed in less than an hour because it is a type of goods whose entry into BiH requires a swift response. The Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) has been in constant contact with the BiH Coordination Body for Protection and Rescue and the Ministry of Security of BiH since the very beginning of the crisis situation caused by the Covid 19 virus, as our common goal is to react promptly in all situations that require it, the Indirect Taxation Authority announced.

The ITA has so far implemented all recommendations of the competent institutions and organized the work of all employees in the Authority in such a way that all business processes are proceeding completely normally and without delays. All of this was particularly important because the fiscal stability of the entire Bosnia depends on the work of the ITA. It was emphasized that it is therefore necessary to adopt the budget for all institutions at the BiH level as soon as possible, including the ITA, in order to ensure the smooth functioning and fulfillment of all obligations.

The ITA has activated a special Operational Headquarters at its headquarters, and four more operational headquarters in each regional center (Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, and Tuzla), which are on duty every day, 24 hours a day, and through which information from the field and problems encountered by ITA officials in the course of their duties are conveyed to the ITA management so that prompt action can be taken where necessary.

The Director of the ITA issued orders for action based on which all managers of the Authority are obliged to be at work every day, and they were obliged to organize work in such a way that all business processes proceed without delays, which has been done.

The goal of the ITA is to provide full support to every individual in our Authority and to protect the health of all employees of the Authority, the health of their families, and all persons with whom they come into contact, to the greatest extent possible. In this regard, activities have been undertaken to ensure larger quantities of protective equipment and hygiene supplies, and the work premises of the ITA are being disinfected.

Finally, the management of the Authority also sent a letter of support to all our officials, because only together, without spreading panic, can we overcome this difficult situation.
