Čanak: I come from a country ruled by thieves, priests, tycoons; I hope that won't be the case in BiH

Numerous guests attended the 6th Congress of the SDP BiH, including presidents of political parties from the region and BiH, representatives of the governmental and non-governmental sectors, international organizations and embassies, representatives of the SSS BiH and the Employers' Association.

Nenad Čanak, president of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, said he comes from a country whose Constitution states it is secular, yet politicians also visit priests.

- I come from a country ruled by thieves, priests, tycoons. A country that advocates cooperation with its neighbors, yet has not agreed on borders, not to separate us, but to know who pays how much tax to whom.

The migrant crisis is the biggest crisis that nationalists have dragged us into. This crisis shows that we are all people threatened by those who sell human flesh to earn a little more.

- If the EU, which has 28 members, holds onto interests, then we will reach a point where 28 common interests cannot be achieved, but if it holds onto principles, that is what social democrats adhere to. Petty interests lead to petty solutions. All of us social democrats must look each other in the eye and say that we are all being deceived and robbed precisely by those who have taken a deed to the nation and the state. While three temples are built, one school is closed—that is the country I come from, but whether yours will be like that depends on you. I hope it won't - Čanak said.
