Čampara: Unacceptable appointment of Zoran Krešić to the Management Board of RTVFBiH, he will not get my support

(Patria) - Delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH Aljoša Čampara (NIP) spoke on social media regarding the election of members of the Management Board of RTVFBiH, with an emphasis on candidate Zoran Krešić. He stated that he will not support his appointment.

"The Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the legislative body to which the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is accountable for its work, and not vice versa. As a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, I took an oath to protect the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its citizens. In this regard, if media reports about the intentions of HDZ BiH to appoint Zoran Krešić to the Management Board of RTV Federation of BiH are true, such an appointment - given his publicly declared and unacceptable views - I cannot and will not support," stated Čampara.

He emphasizes that the Management Board of RTV Federation of BiH should consist of appointed experts who will work on the further development of a professional television, promoting media freedom and pluralism, editorial independence, and political impartiality.

"Journalist Zoran Krešić, who publicly advocates for the dismantling of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rehabilitation of the para-state entity 'Herceg-Bosna,' is certainly not a person who will act constructively and progressively, and therefore his potential appointment is completely unacceptable. I am sure that in HDZ BiH, as well as in SDP BiH, and in other political parties, there are people who identify as members of the Croatian people with a state-building character who would work exclusively in the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Čampara states.

He also commented on the proposed amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs of FBiH and the Law on Police Officers of FBiH, which will first be on the agenda of the House of Representatives of the PFBiH on September 4, and then in the House of Peoples.

"I do not intend to support the amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs of the Federation of BiH and the Law on Police Officers of the Federation of BiH. I note that the proposal of the FMUP is good, as it aligns regulations with state regulations regarding the selection of the director and deputy director of the police administration, but I also believe there are much more important things that need to be changed in these laws.

Therefore, I am ready to support only the return of the law to regular parliamentary procedure, in which we will open a discussion on abolishing the legal provision on the ethnic affiliation of the director of the Federal Police Administration. Why should the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Director of the Federal Police Administration not be Bosniaks when the Minister of the MUP of HNK and the Police Commissioner of the MUP of HNK are both Croats? Does that mean Bosniaks do not have a qualified chief inspector who meets the conditions for election to the position of Director of the FUP? Ultimately, we need to free the security apparatus from ethnic labels because police officers should serve all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina," concluded Čampara.
