The FBiH Government accepted the information from the Federal Ministry of Education and Science on the implementation of the conclusion regarding the establishment of a Call Center to provide all information to citizens and legal entities regarding assistance for those affected in the Federation of BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.
Three telephone lines were opened: 033 276 383 in Sarajevo and 036 355 726 in Mostar (from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM), and 062 575 656 on duty (from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Employees were assigned to shifts for 24-hour service to provide information to citizens and legal entities who called.
- A total of 268 calls were received by the duty phones of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science from May 18 to June 1. The majority of calls concerned information about the addresses and contacts of collection points (primarily Civil Protection and Red Cross) where priority items for flood victims could be donated. These were calls from public institutions (schools), legal entities, and individuals donating food, clothing, footwear, medicine, blankets and mattresses, hygiene products, and furniture, the FBiH Government announced.
All inquiries were successfully resolved, meaning the collection points for donations were identified, and all this was done in cooperation with the Red Cross, the Federal Civil Protection Administration, and cantonal civil protection headquarters.
- A large number of calls were also recorded requesting information on contact numbers for relevant services in cantons and municipalities, Civil Protection, and the Red Cross. Many calls were related to volunteering for assistance, finding the best way to transport and store humanitarian aid from abroad, and the process of its customs clearance. Calls from citizens seeking phone numbers of mobile operators opened for the purpose of collecting humanitarian aid were also recorded, according to the FBiH Government.
