Turbulent session in BiH Presidency: Cvijanović wants discussion on Helez

(Patria) - A session of the BiH Presidency is being held in Sarajevo tomorrow, and judging by the atmosphere, it could be exciting. Especially since Željka Cvijanović proposed that the agenda include information on the allegations of the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, about "the existence of certain paramilitary formations and camps on the territory of Republika Srpska".

Helez revealed that there are military camps in the RS area, which caused fierce reactions, and the Russians also responded. In the explanation sent to Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, Cvijanović stated that the Minister of Defense publicly presented information concerning the existence of certain paramilitary formations and camps on the territory of Republika Srpska, which are used for training people for military purposes.

- Also, Mr. Helez, in his public address on this topic, stated that these people are trained by certain instructors originating from the Russian Federation, and that the aforementioned activities are carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska. Furthermore, the Minister of Defense claimed that the training camps for these formations are located in the municipalities of Rogatica, as well as in the Maglić mountain area, without clearly specifying the exact location of the disputed formations, after which a denial of the claims was issued by political officials responsible for the territories designated as the location of the existence of the mentioned camps - Cvijanović recalled.

Since the aforementioned information has caused justified public concern in BiH, which is in addition to information from certain foreign intelligence services about the existence of terrorist cells in BiH, Cvijanović believes that it is absolutely justified and necessary for the BiH Presidency to request information on this matter from the competent institutions, as well as from the Minister of Defense himself who presented the disputed qualifications to the public.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office has opened a case following Helez's claims about paramilitary camps in the RS. In her letter, Cvijanović also proposed a conclusion stating that the BiH Presidency, as the supreme commander of the Armed Forces of BiH, obliges the BiH Minister of Defense to provide comprehensive information regarding the allegations made public concerning the existence of paramilitary camps and formations on the territory of Republika Srpska.

She stated today that it would be good for the BiH Presidency session, which will be initiated in the coming period, to include information on what is happening with radical Islamic phenomena that existed, with para-jamaats, with so-called humanitarian organizations that actually promote radicalization in the global picture, and expressed hope that this information will be provided.
