Turbulence in the BiH Parliament: Grubeša's dismissal divides MPs, who keeps a cool head and who has caught a cold

(Patria) - At the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, a heated debate took place over the request by a group of MPs to dismiss the Minister of Justice of BiH, Josip Grubeša (HDZ BiH), and numerous objections were raised regarding the fact that Grubeša did not respond to the invitation of the Investigative Commission of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to determine the state of affairs in the judicial institutions of BiH.

As stated by one of the initiators of the motion, Damir Arnaut, the Temporary Investigative Commission for determining the state of affairs in the judicial institutions of BiH heard numerous officials, but for the first time they found themselves in a situation where they scheduled a date chosen by witness Grubeša twice, and he cancelled both times.

- From everything mentioned so far, it is evident that you are not competent to perform this function, said Aida Baručija (NB). 

Zlatan Begić (DF) stated that he also supported the dismissal at the Investigative Commission, because it is unacceptable not to respond to interviews. 

„The executive branch is obliged to do so. Be assured that if it were a minister from the DF, I would also initiate his dismissal,“ said Begić. 

Adil Osmanović (SDA) pointed out that there have already been several initiatives for dismissals, but that the SDA wants to keep a cool head.

Zukan Helez (SDP) said that while the SDA is cooling down, young people are leaving this country.

"I don't know when you will catch a cold," asked Helez.

Nikola Lovrinović (HDZ) at one point even stated that the Investigative Commission is illegal.

Damir Arnaut (Naša stranka) said that in this way neither the rules of procedure nor the law, and thus the Constitution of BiH, are respected.

„When talking about how each commission is constituted, the Rules of Procedure clearly stipulate that all commissions are composed of 2/3 from the Federation and 1/3 from the RS. This has been respected. Regarding temporary commissions, currently in this House, one has concluded its work whose appointment did not fulfill the entity obligation. You have a temporary commission for the appointment of the Agency for Personal Data Protection where it is three to three, will you challenge the appointment of the director,“ said Arnaut, after which he requested a 15-minute break.
