(Patria) - The General Director of Elektroprivreda BiH, Sanel Buljubašić, attended today's session of FERK in Mostar, where a decision was made to approve the company's request for an increase in electricity prices.
After the FERK session, Buljubašić told the media that even this increase is not in line with production costs, but that they must have financial resources for the maintenance of power plants, thermal power plants, and hydroelectric plants.
“This is the first step by FERK towards EP BiH after many years to align our prices for customers with production costs. Today it was noted that even these current prices are not close to our production costs, but that it is very important for maintaining our energy stability.
The previous Chairman of FERK, Mr. Bešo, unnecessarily removed this item from the last session’s agenda, which was noted at today’s session,” said Buljubašić.
Speaking about possible price increases in the coming period, he said it depends on production costs.
“FERK’s role is to monitor our operations and possibly reduce the price of electricity if it determines that it should,” he added.
Let us recall, EP BiH requested an increase in electricity prices of up to 10 percent, and it will be calculated from August 1.
