'Ratko Mladić Boulevard' across Novi Sad

(Patria) - Unknown perpetrators in Novi Sad have covered street name signs with posters reading "Ratko Mladić Boulevard". These posters are most numerous in the Liman district and have been pasted over the signs of Narodnog fronta Street, Beta reports.

Such posters were once pasted in Belgrade by the current President of Serbia and the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vučić, when he was a high-ranking official of the Serbian Radical Party.

In the Liman settlements, candidates supported by the SNS lost elections in three local communities this summer, and since then various types of incidents have occurred.

Almost the entire settlement has been marked with Serbian tricolours, and the number of nationalist graffiti has increased, as well as those glorifying war criminal Ratko Mladić.

The opposition and part of the public have assessed that the SNS is behind all nationalist incidents, which has not taken responsibility for these actions, nor has it condemned the incidents.

In Novi Sad, several murals depicting Ratko Mladić have been destroyed in the past few days, mostly by activists of the LSV, the party that hung a large banner at its headquarters reading „Mladić war criminal convicted of genocide“.

In response to these actions by unknown persons, some of whom have been identified by the police, derogatory messages were written on the LSV building, eggs were thrown at the building, and the banner was removed.
