Bukvarević insulted veterans in front of the Government: He called us idlers, he is no longer our minister!

Demobilised veterans have been in front of the Government of the Federation of BiH for almost three months, and with the arrival of autumn, more and more of them, after finishing agricultural work, plan to join their comrades, reports the Patria news agency.

The attempt by Salko Bukvarević, who signed some proposed solution with a few of them some time ago, failed. The minister's wish was to shut down the camp, but his intention was quickly exposed, so there are more and more veterans. The veterans who are still in front of the FBiH Government building today officially sent a letter stating that they no longer want Bukvarević to come to their camp and that he is no longer their representative.

This decision was made after Bukvarević's appearance on TV1, where he effectively called the veterans idlers, which deeply offended those who have been seeking their rights for so many years after the war.

- We sent a letter to the minister that he no longer represents us, after statements in which he called us idlers. We will also conduct a petition in the municipalities to see if the people support us and our fellow veterans. We want to show that we are not idlers, and Bukvarević will have to retract that – says Mirsad Džafić, one of the demobilised veterans who has been with his comrades from day one.

Those gathered in front of the Government building do not give up on their demands that the Government publish a list of all beneficiaries of veterans' benefits and privileges, abolish more than 1,600 veterans' associations, and ensure a monthly allowance of 320 KM and healthcare for those veterans who have no employment or pension.
