Bugojno: Court evicts humanitarian association due to debt of 2,629 KM

The humanitarian association Đerđef from Bugojno, which collects aid for those in need, will have to vacate its premises in Sultan Ahmedova Street in the city center in the near future according to a decision of the Municipal Court in Bugojno, reports the news agency Patria.

The eviction was ordered due to a debt of 2,629.20 KM. All citizens of Bugojno and humanitarians across our country and far beyond were shocked when they heard this news.

This association has been an example of successful and transparent work for years, as evidenced by numerous awards, but the decision of the Municipal Court shocked all members of the association, especially its president, Šida Kalbić.

-I want to inform you that the Association Đerđef is organizing a humanitarian concert at the Memix wedding hall in Bugojno on Thursday, October 15, with the aim of collecting the necessary funds to pay the rent for the premises where the association fights to save lives not only of the people of Bugojno, but of the entire Central Bosnia, Krajina, and even Herzegovina.

So far, we have had many successful actions without any help from the state authorities, and I am outraged by what is happening to us. It is sad to see a lawsuit against an association that has saved many lives. Our numerous awards and certificates of appreciation mean nothing to some people. In the coming days, we will publish a list of all those we have helped.

I will not leave this space, and I ask all citizens of Bugojno and good people to help us. Anyone who says they once visited our association and asked for help, and we did not accommodate them, should come forward immediately. We have helped with medicines, fuel, donated at least 100 KM, and the largest amount we donated was 40,000 euros.

It is sad and deplorable that we have to beg from the space that our Municipality donated to us. Our mayor always receives me warmly, but this surprised me, and if this comes from his head, then it is shameful. If others are doing it, then let them be ashamed. I did make a contract to pay for the space, but whenever I went to the mayor and said I had no money to pay for this space, he said to arrange everything and leave it, but now suddenly a decision came that we must pay all the debt.

Every mark we collect, we give to the sick and their treatment, and I will never allow myself to take that money and pay the rent, Kalbić emphasized and added:

-The saddest thing is when my Selmir Basara, a demobilized soldier who is undergoing treatment thanks to our association, called me and said to take money from his account and pay the debt. That is pitiful and sad, but we will collect the money, added Kalbić.

Words of support arrive at the Đerđef Association every day, and numerous citizens of Bugojno have stated that it is incredible that everything positive in this city has no support from the city leaders, quite the opposite, very often attempts are made to extinguish it in various ways, the Association announced.
