Budget of BiH institutions before MPs today

(Patria) - The 29th emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has been scheduled for today, with the Bill on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2025 on the agenda, proposed by the Presidency of BiH.

The proposal is to consider the Budget under an emergency procedure. This is the proposal adopted by the Presidency of BiH on August 21.

This proposal also includes an amendment by Željko Komšić, proposing 5 million KM for the Central Election Commission (CIK) for the implementation of early elections for the president of Republika Srpska. However, funds for the CIK have already been secured and transferred.

The budget for 2025 is planned at 1.55 billion KM.

This budget also includes funds for BHRT in the amount of 22 million KM for the settlement of debts and obligations, as well as transfers to cultural institutions of importance to BiH in the amount of 7.9 million KM.

Compared to 2024, an increase is planned for the Ministry of Defence of BiH, the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO), the BiH Border Police, the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA)...

SNSD has announced that they will be against the budget and that this proposal is unacceptable to them. The opposition from Republika Srpska is essentially against the proposal, and it will be clearer at the session itself whether they will have any conditions to potentially support the budget.
