Budva, Istanbul, Paris, Zanzibar: Sarajevans Already Looking for New Year's Eve Destinations

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In recent years, one of the most sought-after destinations among Bosnians and Herzegovinians has been Istanbul. The offer of travel agencies for this Turkish metropolis does not wane throughout the year. Although summer is over, many are now looking for where to spend a few more days of annual leave or an extended weekend. From the Sarajevo travel agency Mondoco travel, they say that Istanbul holds primacy in the travels of our fellow citizens.

- Definitely, Istanbul is a destination that has been constantly interesting to BH citizens for years, and we can say that this interest does not wane at all over time. If we can say for any destination that it is the most popular for travel by BH citizens, then it is precisely Istanbul. If we take into account that in the summer period the Antalya region is definitely the most popular on our market, then we can also say that Turkey holds primacy in the travels of our fellow citizens throughout the year – says Adi Imamović from Mondoco travel for the Patria agency.

Given that the New Year holidays are approaching, we asked Imamović what is being prepared for the celebration of the wildest night and which destinations Sarajevans are choosing to ring in the new year. One of the favorite destinations is also the Montenegrin coast.

- New Year is a period that, after summer, records the largest number of travels by our citizens. Sarajevans mostly choose trips to closer and shorter destinations such as Budva, Vienna, Prague, Venice, Belgrade, considering working days and that it is not the annual leave season. What we must highlight is that there is also growing interest in Budva, which has been the capital of New Year's entertainment in the region for a decade – states Imamović.

He adds that those who have more free days for travel choose to fly to Istanbul, Barcelona, Athens, Paris.

- Recently, we have recorded greater interest in faraway destinations, which will be another travel sector our company will focus on in the coming period. In our offer, you can already find trips to Thailand, Morocco, Bali, or Zanzibar. We must mention that our agency is also an authorized representative for the sale of cruises of leading world companies – says Imamović.
