Numerous irregularities at KJKP Rad: Director Čukojević to file criminal charges for tender rigging

(Patria) - Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saša Magazinović, received acting director of KJKP RAD Sarajevo, Maida Čukojević.

The reason for the meeting are the announced amendments to the Law on Public Procurement and the Criminal Code, which aim to combat the abuse of public procurement and the misappropriation of public funds.

Expressing gratitude to Magazinović for openly opposing criminal activities of stealing public money, acting director Čukojević informed him of her intention to file criminal charges in the coming days against several current and former responsible persons, managers, and employees of KJKP RAD Sarajevo precisely due to identified irregularities in the public procurement process. She emphasized that she found numerous irregularities in the public procurement process at this cantonal company, which indicate the possibility of criminal offenses, and that it concerns possible favoritism in obtaining contracts by this company and other irregularities, which casts doubt on the damage incurred by KJKP RAD. She stressed her readiness to be one of the managers who will oppose irregularities and stop widespread crime and corruption in the public sector.

Magazinović thanked her for the support in initiating legal solutions to combat individuals in institutions and companies who rig tenders, favor companies, and steal citizens' money. He offered support to acting director Čukojević and all other responsible individuals who intend to report all identified irregularities, especially those in the field of public procurement, to the competent authorities. He emphasized that the laws in preparation provide for serious sanctions for everyone in the public procurement chain, not just ministers and directors as responsible persons, and that there should be no fear in the fight against crime and corruption, reminding that failure to report knowledge of criminal activity is also a criminal offense.

Magazinović and Čukojević appealed to all responsible persons in institutions and companies to report all identified irregularities, especially those in the field of public procurement, and invited them to be active allies in the fight against crime and corruption, considering that huge amounts of public money are still being misappropriated through tender rigging and abuse of public procurement. Reporting and prosecuting those responsible is the only way to show that we are not all the same, stated Member of Parliament Magazinović and acting director Čukojević.
