Numerous delegations visited cemeteries and the Kovači martyrs' cemetery: Tribute paid to fallen members of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - As part of the commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, delegations from the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, veterans' associations, on behalf of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, General Sifet Podžić attended, along with other officials and defense veterans, paid tribute today to the fallen martyrs and soldiers of the ARBiH by laying flowers.

The delegations visited the Lav, St. Joseph, St. Mark, and Stadion cemeteries, the Kovači martyrs' cemetery, the courtyard of the Ali Pasha Mosque, the Memorial to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo, and the Eternal Flame memorial, where they paid respects to the victims and laid flowers.

In the courtyard of the Ali Pasha Mosque, flowers were laid at the grave of Mustafa Hajrulahović Talijan, the first commander of the First Corps of the ARBiH.

A ceremonial academy will be held at the Sarajevo City Hall at 8:00 PM, and from 9:00 PM a concert titled "Sound of Freedom" will be held at the First Police Brigade Square in Stari Grad (across from the City Hall).

The Minister of Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Omer Osmanović, told the media that today marks one of the most significant dates in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the formation of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Many gave their lives for the defense of the state, and we want to mark this date with dignity," said Osmanović, adding that he is proud of the First Corps.
