
(Patria) - A few minutes past noon, the commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the Markale massacre began, when 68 people were killed and 139 seriously and lightly wounded by a shell fired from Serbian positions at the Markale market.
The commemoration program for the 31st anniversary of the Markale massacre began with the playing of the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the reading of the names of the victims.
February 5 is also the Day of Remembrance for all citizens of Sarajevo killed and wounded by the aggressor during the siege from 1992 to 1995.
Survivors, family members of the victims, associations, and numerous delegations laid flowers at the memorial on Markale Square.
Flowers were laid by members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, as well as delegations from the state level, a delegation from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sarajevo Canton, the Vice Presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Deputy High Representative, the OSCE Mission, and delegations from the Federal Parliament, the City of Sarajevo, municipalities, and veterans' associations...
