Numerous congratulations on the occasion of Catholic Christmas

SARAJevo, (Patria) - On the occasion of the Catholic holiday of Christmas, political representatives and officials sent congratulations to Cardinal Vinko Puljić and all Catholics. 

The Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković, sent congratulations to the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, and to Catholic citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina at home and abroad. 

The Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, on behalf of the FBiH Government and personally, congratulated Catholic citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of Christmas.

“May this great holiday bring joy and prosperity to your homes and the homes of your loved ones, and remind us of the exceptional importance of mutual understanding, support, togetherness, and dialogue. The holiday season and family gatherings always fill us with spiritual strength that directs us towards true values and nobility, but also remind us of the significance of life, community, and multiculturalism, which our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina cherishes. Therefore, may this holiday strengthen the conviction that, all together, we will contribute to Bosnia and Herzegovina being a symbol of mutual respect and the creation of conditions for a better life for all its peoples and citizens. I wish you to spend the upcoming days in good health, sharing the joy of Christmas with your closest ones,” reads Prime Minister Novalić’s congratulatory message.

The BiH Presidency Member, Šefik Džaferović, sent a Christmas greeting to the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, and to Catholics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora.

“To you, Your Eminence Cardinal Puljić, as well as to all Catholics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Christmas. I wish you to spend the upcoming holidays in joy and good health together with your relatives, friends, and neighbors. Christmas is a holiday that carries a universal message of faith, hope, and peace, and the strengthening of interpersonal relationships. May the spiritual and festive atmosphere from family homes spill over to the entire society throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, sent a congratulatory message to His Eminence Cardinal Vinko Puljić and all Catholics in BiH on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. The congratulatory message is transmitted in its entirety:

“Your Eminence Cardinal Puljić, in the atmosphere of our greatest Christian feast, when we celebrate God's immeasurable love and joy, I wish you personally, the bishops, priests, nuns, and all Catholics in Bosnia and Herzegovina a happy and blessed feast of Christ's birth. Christmas is a time of mercy, kindness, and forgiveness. On Christmas, God, through the birth of His Son, came to dwell among us to bestow upon us His unconditional love and save us despite all our earthly trials and weaknesses. Therefore, may every person recognize in Christ's birth the source of strength and joy when facing the life challenges brought by everyday life. In these days of the greatest post-war division and uncertainty in our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, may the Christmas light and true Christmas peace bring us comfort and hope, awaken in us trust in God, and encourage us, strengthened by faith, to strengthen the community of our peoples and, united in diversity, continue to build our interpersonal relationships through reconciliation and forgiveness, mutual solidarity, and respect. With sincere wishes that the Christmas message of peace and the light of faith illuminate our hope, Your Eminence, I send you warm greetings and expressions of special respect.”

The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zoran Tegeltija, congratulated Christmas to the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, and all Catholic faithful in BiH.
