British Embassy in BiH rejects claims that Dragičević is in the Embassy

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The United Kingdom completely rejects claims that Davor Dragičević is in our Embassy or that we are in any way connected with the organization of protests in Banja Luka, it was announced to BHRT from the embassy in Sarajevo.

“The United Kingdom is a partner and friend to the whole of BiH and we have been showing our commitment and dedication to the citizens of BiH for many years,” the Embassy said, NAP reports.

“We are considering reporting Davor Dragičević missing, one of his family members told the Patria agency in a phone conversation on Tuesday, after Davor had been out of contact for more than 24 hours.

The Banja Luka Police Administration issued a statement on Monday stating that a search had been issued for Davor Dragičević and four other people, but no further information about Dragičević has been known since then.

He led the protests on Sunday in the center of Banja Luka, but after that, all trace of him was lost.

The group “Justice for David”, which brings together thousands of citizens from Banja Luka and the region, has been demanding for almost a year that the authorities reveal who killed the 21-year-old young man David Dragičević in March 2018, accusing the police and political leadership of Republika Srpska of involvement in the cover-up of the crime. The group is led by the father of the murdered young man, Davor Dragičević, his mother Suzana, as well as their friends.

Banja Luka police detained several members of the “Justice for David” group as well as opposition members during protests last week, while all future public gatherings of the group have been banned.
