British Embassy: Dodik has been convicted, we call on institutions to support the rule of law and act on the verdict!

(Patria) - The British Embassy in Sarajevo has commented on the confirmation of the first-instance verdict by which Milorad Dodik, president of the entity of Rs, has been found guilty of non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a statement published on social media, the Embassy of the United Kingdom clearly states that the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina must be fully respected.

"All relevant institutions and actors should support the rule of law and act without delay in accordance with the verdict, as instructed by the Court," the message stated.

This statement comes after the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the conviction of Dodik, which has provoked sharp reactions from Rs and further escalated the political atmosphere in the country.

The British statement represents one of a series of international calls to the BiH authorities to protect the independence of the judiciary and ensure the execution of court decisions.

We remind that Miloš Lukić, former director of the Official Gazette of Rs, was acquitted, which was confirmed by a final verdict in this case.
