(Patria) - British woman Ethel Caterham (115) has been named the world's oldest person.
LongeviQuest and the Gerontology Research Group, research organisations that verify ages for the Guinness World Records, claim Caterham is the oldest in the world.
She was born in 1909 and is the last surviving subject of King Edward VII and also the oldest British woman in history, reported the British The Telegraph.
Ethel Caterham has become the world's oldest person at the age of 115 years and 252 days old.
She is the oldest person ever recorded from the United Kingdom.

Caterham is now the world's oldest person after the previous record holder, Brazilian nun Inah Canabarro Lucas, died on 30 April at the age of 116.
Incidentally, Caterham lives in a nursing home in Lightwater, Surrey, England.
Last year, when asked what influenced her longevity, she said she does what she loves and never argues with anyone.
She was born in Shipton Bellinger, in the English county of Hampshire, on 21 August 1909.
She is the first British woman to hold the title of the world's oldest person since 1987, when 114-year-old Anna Williams was the record holder.
