British showed seriousness and consistency with the resolution proposal on Srebrenica

The First March Coalition welcomed the resolution proposal that Great Britain will present to the United Nations Security Council, as well as the efforts of British diplomacy to take a step forward and further supplement the resolution.

At the same time, we consider the political heating up and relativization of the resolution adoption process, which comes from the other side, to be unnecessary, the Coalition First March announced, reports the Patria News Agency.

- If someone else wanted to propose a resolution on Srebrenica and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they would surely have done so before Great Britain. Now, negotiating the Russian resolution proposal means negotiating the value stance towards the war, victims, and policies that led this region in the nineties.

I think that the British Embassy in Sarajevo, numerous organizations in Great Britain that work on remembering the genocide, and finally the entire diplomacy of the United Kingdom have done a great thing of importance for the international recognition of the victims of the war in BiH, and we are grateful to them for that, said Edin Ikanović.

- The constructive efforts and serious attitude of the Russian Ambassador in Sarajevo should be welcomed, who emphasized that the official policy of the Russian Federation does not question the verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Court, which confirm the crime of genocide in Srebrenica.

The time is coming when, after the full international recognition of the genocide in Srebrenica, we must seek truth for Bratunac, Vlasenica, Zvornik, Foča, Janja, Rogatica, Višegrad, Prijedor, because genocide as a crime is not a local matter, but the result of a broader intention, which started back in the spring of 1992, concluded Ikanović.
