Brussels: No place in the EU for those who deny the Srebrenica genocide

(Patria) - There is no place in the European Union for those who deny the Srebrenica genocide, the bloc has stated.

EU spokesperson Peter Stano says Brussels will not tolerate anyone who disputes this fact.

- The EU will not tolerate any of its member states, partners, and anyone who tries to deny or relativize the genocide or tries to glorify war criminals.

And this is something we convey to countries and partners who want to become part of Europe, part of the European Union.

We expect all political actors in the Western Balkans to refrain from any actions and rhetoric that would overshadow their European achievements and what could be considered denial of the horrific things that happened in Srebrenica - Stano stated.

The EU clearly states that Brussels' position on the Srebrenica genocide is very clear.

- This is not a matter of opinion. It is a decision of international judicial bodies that have very clearly stated that genocide was committed there.

Therefore, everyone must accept and respect it. And anyone who tries to question it has no place in Europe - Stano added.
