Brčko: Remains of Bosniak victim from Srebrenica found under fountain in yard of Nebojša Mraović's house

(Patria) - Incomplete remains of one victim from the past war were exhumed today in the yard of the family house of Nebojša Mraović in the Brčko District.

According to information available to the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is assumed that the victim is of Bosniak ethnicity, most likely from the Srebrenica area.

According to this information, the remains of the victim were brought to Brčko immediately after the war, and in 2012 they were buried and hidden under a fountain in a private yard, most likely by the owner of the plot.

An investigation has been opened by the competent prosecutor's office regarding this case.

The remains will be transferred to the Commemorative Center Tuzla for further forensic and criminal-technical processing and extraction of bone samples with the aim of establishing identity through DNA method.

The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and according to the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
