The cadet national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won the gold medal tonight against Lithuania at the European Championship in Kaunas with a score of 85:83, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The fight for the medal lasted until the last second, but the Bosnian basketball players managed to prevail against the aggressive Lithuanians.
Under the leadership of coach Josip Pandža, our selection managed to win 12 out of 14 matches, with the most dramatic being last night's match against Spain and this one against Lithuania.
However, with great courage, "madness," youth, effort and dedication, our basketball players managed to bring joy to Bosnia and Herzegovina and win the gold medal at the European Championship for the first time.
Captain Džanan Musa, Njegoš Sikiraš, Sani Čampara, Emir Čerkezović, Lazar Mutić, Amar Barukčija, Vedran Mirković, Aljoša Janković, Srđan Kočić, Adi Alikadić, Timur Ovčina, Nikola Đaković are the team that will be written in golden letters in the history of Bosnian basketball.
