BRATUNAC: Skeletal remains of at least two victims found on the surface

(Patria) - During terrain clearing in the municipality of Bratunac today, incomplete skeletal remains of at least two victims of the past war were found. Very scarce remains were found on the very surface of the ground at two locations. At the Suhi potok site, a skull was found, while at the Bukva site, several skeletal remains were found.

It is assumed that the found remains belong to victims of Bosniak nationality who were moving in a column that passed through this area after the fall of Srebrenica, in the summer of 1995. The found remains will be transported to the Memorial Center in Tuzla for their forensic and forensic medical processing, as well as the collection of bone samples, in order to determine the identity of the victims using DNA analysis.

Today's exhumation was led by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, by order of the BiH Court.

Investigators from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH will continue their work in the Srebrenica area tomorrow, searching for a mass grave.
