Bratunac: Remains of at least one victim of the past war exhumed at Kameničko brdo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the Kameničko brdo site, in the area called Popova njiva, incomplete remains of at least one victim of the past war were exhumed today.

The remains were found on the surface, and according to information available to the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is presumed they belong to a victim of Bosniak nationality who was killed in the genocide in Srebrenica in 1995.

After the site was cleared, the remains were transferred to the Memorial Center in Tuzla, where forensic medical and criminal-technical processing will be carried out.

Bone samples will also be taken for victim identification using the DNA method. The exhumation was led by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
