
The Chief Prosecutor of The Hague, Serge Brammertz, will be in Sarajevo, Zenica, and Banja Luka from March 16 to 18 this year, reports the Patria News Agency.
The main goal of the prosecutor's visit is to meet with entity judicial authorities and discuss the processing of war crimes cases they are conducting, as well as issues of mutual interest. The prosecutor will meet with the presidents of supreme courts, chief prosecutors, and directors of training centers for judges and prosecutors of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
In addition, the prosecutor will meet with representatives of several victims' associations in Zenica and Banja Luka. Finally, Prosecutor Brammertz has been invited to give lectures to law students at universities in Sarajevo and Zenica, where he will speak about the contemporary challenges facing international criminal justice.
The prosecutor's regular visit to the region as part of preparations for reporting to the UN Security Council is planned for the coming months, the Hague Tribunal announced.
