Brammertz visits Sarajevo: Hague Tribunal archives could be housed in City Hall

Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal Serge Brammertz today toured Sarajevo City Hall accompanied by Mayor Ivo Komšić, the city administration announced, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).

Prosecutor Brammertz expressed a desire to visit the renovated City Hall, which he last saw when it was destroyed. After today's visit, he did not hide his enthusiasm for the entire ambiance of this imposing building, the statement further reads.

During the tour, the interlocutors briefly discussed the establishment of an information center for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in Sarajevo, which would house the archives after the Hague Tribunal ceases its operations. On this occasion, Mayor Komšić emphasized that the City is ready to offer part of the space in the renovated City Hall and that he believes it is the best place to house this documentation.

The visit to City Hall today was also attended by the Head of the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia Mission in Sarajevo, Margareth Prins, and a representative of the Registry of the Hague Tribunal (ICTY), Almir Alić, according to the statement, reports NAP.
