Bradara with Cormack: No issues regarding scheduling the session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament

Chairwoman of the House of Peoples of the PF BiH Lidija Bradara held a meeting today with US Ambassador Maureen Cormack, who initiated the visit with the aim of gaining a more detailed insight into the work of this House.

The topic of the meeting was nevertheless electoral reforms, and Bradara informed the ambassador, in addition to the adopted acts, the functioning of the House, and the parliamentary majority, about the procedures on which the cooperation of the two houses of the Federal Parliament is based, and which, of course, also apply to the currently most relevant, the Proposal of the Law on Electoral Units and Distribution of Mandates of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

Namely, Bradara reiterated previously stated positions that there have never been, and therefore will not be, any issues regarding the scheduling of the session on her part, but that at the level of FBiH, an Election Law cannot be adopted that would be contrary to the Election Law of BiH, and that according to the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the place for amendments to the Election Law is precisely the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

She recalled that the Government of the Federation of BiH at the end of January unanimously gave a negative opinion on the Law on Electoral Units, after which it changed its position to positive, even though there were no Croatian officials at the session, just as there were no Croatian representatives during the adoption of the Law in the House of Representatives.
