Married couple Etemi named their son after BiH goalkeeper, were shocked when Asmir called them

Belma and Haris Etemi, a married couple from Sarajevo, became parents to a boy a few days ago, whom they named after the goalkeeper of the BiH national team, Asmir Begović, reports the Patria News Agency. They do not know Asmir personally, but he "won them over" with his actions on and off the field, so they named their son after him without hesitation.

However, what followed fascinated the Etemis themselves, as they did not expect to ever meet Asmir. But Begović learned about this case through the Patria News Agency and immediately asked for Haris's phone number.

- I am pleased to hear that someone was named after me. I think it is a good decision. I'm joking a little, but I am certainly proud to hear that – said Begović.

And then Begović kept his promise and sent a text message to Haris thanking him for the gesture. Haris says he did not believe it would happen, but he is glad that Asmir found out that they named their son after him.

- We consider Asmir to be an exceptionally good person above all, and his call, or rather the message he sent us, made us immensely happy, and we know that our Asmir, God willing, will be proud that he was named after him – says Haris.

He further adds that he has never had a happier moment, which Begović's SMS further completed.

- We will remain in contact, and I believe we will manage to meet Begović when he comes to BiH. In any case, his call to us is proof of what a great person he is – added Etemi.

Otherwise, the Etemis are big football fans, and they did not miss the World Cup matches despite the fact that Belma was very close to giving birth.
