Bošnjak discussed with European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner

(Patria) - Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ivica Bošnjak and European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner met today in Sarajevo on the sidelines of the Ministerial Forum of the European Union – Western Balkans on Justice and Internal Affairs.

During the meeting, they discussed the improvement of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union in the areas of migration management, strengthening border security, and combating organized crime.

The interlocutors particularly emphasized the importance of coordinated action within the framework of the common European approach to migration and asylum, as well as the continuation of support for BiH institutions in the process of European integration.

Deputy Minister Bošnjak thanked the European Commission for its continuous support of reform processes in the security sector, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to strengthening the capacities of its institutions and aligning with the standards and practices of the European Union.

The readiness of the European Union to continue providing support in the further implementation of joint projects was also confirmed.

The interlocutors agreed that regional cooperation and information exchange are key to effectively addressing security challenges and migration pressures, and expressed their readiness to continue implementing joint initiatives in the field of security.
