Bosniak Released but Barred from Performing Duties; Will His Salary, Received During Detention, Be Suspended?

(Patria) - Bojan Bošnjak is still formally the Minister of Communal Economy of Sarajevo Canton, but following today's decision by the Municipal Court and certain prohibitive measures, KS Prime Minister Nihad Uk is expected to initiate his dismissal as early as Monday.

Bošnjak has been in detention since mid-November, and today he was released to defend himself from freedom under restrictive measures.

He has been ordered not to leave his place of residence, not to perform official duties in the relevant ministry, not to visit the official premises of the Sarajevo Canton Government, Naša stranka, nor to meet with Ibri Berilo, Nađa Milišić, and Adis Mulaosmanović, or any employee of the Ministry of Communal Economy, and members of Naša stranka.

While in detention, Bošnjak was paid his salary, and the KS Prime Minister did not initiate his dismissal. However, with the measure prohibiting him from performing his duties, things are changing. Bošnjak no longer has grounds to receive a salary because he is formally forbidden from being a minister. Now it is up to the KS Prime Minister to resolve this legal situation. His monthly base salary is 3,465 KM.

Bošnjak is suspected of having given a positive opinion on the environmental impact assessment report, through which he intended to legalize urban projects on Bjelašnica carried out by the Municipality of Trnovo.

When the then director of KJKP Rad, Nijaz Salamović, was arrested in October 2024, and a measure prohibiting him from performing his duties was imposed, he was dismissed from his position at the end of December 2024, and his salary payment was reportedly suspended earlier. Whether the same will happen in Bošnjak's case, we will see very soon.
