Bosniak councilors from Prijedor react to biased reporting by RTRS

PRIJEDOR, (Patria) - Bosniak councilors in the Prijedor City Assembly sent a reaction to RTRS due to biased reporting on yesterday's event at the Prijedor City Assembly session.

- Dear Sir/Madam,

In order to provide objective and impartial information to the public, your journalist yesterday took a video statement regarding the request of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) club at the Prijedor City Assembly session to sanction the organizers of the "White Armband Days" event.

The event, or rather the commemorative gathering, is organized every May 31st in memory of nearly three and a half thousand murdered civilians of non-Serb nationality in Prijedor.

The statement, or rather the comment, that we gave was not published in your news program.

Only one side was published, that of the SNSD, thereby violating the basic journalistic code that you should present both sides in a discussion.

We request that in a repeated report, also in Dnevnik 2 at the same time slot, our statements and the comment taken by your journalist also be published.

We, former camp inmates, surviving victims of Prijedor war crimes, and families of victims, pay RTV fees to your television, so it would be appropriate to have the same status as other citizens of this Bosnian entity.

Although you will probably not publish this either, because there is still only one truth in the RS entity, we had a moral obligation to send you our reaction - stated the reaction of Bosniak councilors from Prijedor Mirsad Duratović, Mesud Trnjanin, Sabahudin Garibović, and Ajdin Mešić.
