Bosniaks Leave Brčko District Government in Protest

Bosniak representatives in the Brčko District government today left the Assembly session in this city, and the head of the SBB caucus, Enes Pašalić, explained the reasons, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- Due to continuous obstructions in the work of the Government and the Assembly, the Bosniak representatives in the government have concluded that they will no longer participate in the government until some principled issues are resolved - says Pašalić.

He added that SBB has been trying to improve the situation in the government for over a year.

- SBB has made a series of proposals, from the initiative on business zones, the arrangement of the city picnic area Ficibajr, and a whole range of other projects that did not receive the support of coalition partners. The situation culminated around the construction of a mosque in the city center. You know that when SBB entered the government, there was an agreement between Bosniak, Serb, and Croat representatives to allow the construction of the mosque, but we have reached a situation where not only is the initiative rejected, but they do not want to discuss it at all - Pašalić stated for Otisak.

He emphasized that this is one of the striking examples of the humiliating position in which the Bosniak representatives in the government find themselves.

- I think it was high time to react to this. You had the opportunity to be informed that in the last few sessions where the Regulatory Plan, which includes the mosque, was to be discussed, Serb representatives in the government did not want to participate in the work at all, and in that way, they prevented any discussion - said Pašalić.
