Bosniaks from Prijedor demand that RS institutions do their job, they will not leave their hearths

In Kozarac, a meeting of representatives of residents from 23 local communities in the area of the city of Prijedor with Bosniak political representatives, non-governmental organizations, and representatives of the Islamic community councils of Prijedor and Kozarac has concluded. The topic was the security situation after organized groups glorified war criminals and insulted and threatened returnees. Patria has already written about this, and the fact that a group of extremists had a police escort in front of the city mosque was particularly highlighted as a problem.

According to NSRS deputy Senad Bratić, concrete conclusions were also reached.

- A mixed working group has been formed that will monitor the situation, hold regular meetings, and already tomorrow file a criminal complaint with the RS Ministry of Interior. A meeting with the head of the Public Security Center will also be sought, as well as a reaction from the newly elected mayor. In addition, an urgent session of the City Assembly is being requested to discuss the security situation, Bratić told us.

As Bratić points out, returnees in Kozarac and other Prijedor settlements are determined to stay at their hearths. They say that if they had been afraid, they would not have returned, but they still consider it necessary for tensions to calm down.

One of the meeting organizers, Nedžad Bešić, also believes that the people should remain calm and not fall for provocations.

- Someone is trying to create an ugly move so that someone else could be blamed. What happened in the previous days, we reviewed a lot of footage from Prijedor, it must have been followed by good logistics. The largest concentration camps were in the area of Prijedor. The climate has been quite shaken, Bešić emphasized.

He stated that a couple of groups are behind these events, and among them is a fascist one from Serbia, connected to the Chetnik movement.
