Bosnian Wand Airlines confirms Patria's reporting with its response, lawyer threatens lawsuits

The news agency Patria was contacted by lawyer Sulejman Kadić, representing the company BWA, with a request to publish their response to the articles our agency published. We are publishing their response, which only confirms all the previous claims that Patria published in its articles, in its entirety and without any corrections. 

Based on Article 6 and Article 8 of the Law on Protection Against Defamation of the FBiH, I am addressing you regarding the article titled "Iraqi opens 'Bosnian Wand Airlines', announces flights, but isn't even an airline!?", published on your website on 01/12/2015 at 18:45, and I call on you to publish a correction in the same place. In your statement titled "Iraqi opens 'Bosnian Wand Airlines', announces flights, but isn't even an airline!?", you presented inaccurate, unverified, and unfounded claims that maliciously play with the image of Bosnian Wand Airlines, calling this company mysterious. The question arises on what basis can a registered company be mysterious!? Your news agency Patria's inquiry to the e-mail address [email protected] arrived yesterday at 5:49 PM, and the article was already published at 18:45. People who have never worked in their lives are aware of standard working hours, and if the article about the company – which has been discussed in the BiH media scene for a long time – was so important for the editorial office to publish within almost an hour, then the journalist could have made an effort to contact an authorized company representative for statements via mobile phone, which, like all other things in Sarajevo, is very easy to obtain.       

BWA is a responsible company and has never claimed to possess a license to conduct air operations, but it has claimed that it is expecting one. The statement of intent for the purpose of obtaining an AOC has been accepted by the Civil Aviation Directorate, and the company possesses documentation for this.

Civil Aviation is aware of all Bosnian Wand Airlines' activities in cooperation with Hermes Airlines. BWA also possesses permits for all flights, and there is no operation that violates the law. The investor adheres to the laws of BiH and conducts all business in accordance with the law.

Bosnian Wand Airlines is registered as a limited liability company for air transport and tourism. Hermes Airlines has the right to operate in BiH under the Open Sky Agreement, to which our country is also a signatory. The company BWA, whose partner is Hermes Airlines, has the right to start building its image as an airline because it has complied with all business procedures in the aviation market. Once it obtains its AOC, BWA will be registered in BiH as an independent airline. Until then, BWA will use its partner's licenses, which is in accordance with legal procedures in the aviation market.  

Bosnian Wand Airlines employs about 50 people from BiH, predominantly young people. Bosnian Wand Airlines has provided these young people, who until recently were mostly unemployed, with an opportunity to get employed based on a regular procedure, rather than the established fraudulent practice in BiH, due to which many quality and talented people do not and will not get the chance to show what they can do in their professional careers.

Bosnian Wand Airlines is one of the companies owned by the Wand group from Iraq. This was also discussed at a reception held a few days ago at Sarajevo International Airport.

The story of Bosnian Wand Airlines began six months ago with the idea of connecting BiH with important destinations around the world and thus starting the construction of a functional transport network. Bosnian Wand Airlines is entering its story by giving equal importance to European and Middle Eastern destinations, but it also wants to work on attracting tourists from Asian countries to visit BiH, which is culturally and historically interesting to them in any case. At the beginning of the year, we plan to fly to the following destinations: Athens, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Erbil, Amsterdam, Baghdad, Jeddah, Malmö, and Frankfurt. The flight schedule is currently being updated, and tickets can be purchased through the booking system. The flight schedule has been changed due to adjustments for our clients, in this case, pilgrims interested in traveling with BWA to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.

With what it intends to do, Bosnian Wand Airlines will actively participate in the development of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economic market. It is committed to pursuing its intentions exclusively in an honest manner and hopes to achieve its goals.

Due to the article that damages the company's reputation, the management of Bosnian Wand Airlines has decided to take available legal measures to protect its work.
